Census Data

The data presented on this page is intended to aid individual citizens, writers, government entities, researchers, private businesses, non-profit organizations, and planners in finding statistical information about jurisdictions within Merced County.  It is largely compiled from 2000 Census Data, although other sources are used as noted.

In an effort to present the information in a convenient, easily accessible, and clearly understandable way, data tables have been organized first by subject category and then by geographical area.

How to Use the Data Summaries

First, select a data category below that you wish to research. The following categories are available to choose from OR you can print out the entire Data Summary Book.

Category Description
Population age, sex, race, population estimates and projections
Housing housing costs, value, tenure, etc.
Economics income, occupation, commute time, industry, etc.
Public Safety arrest rates, crime rates, traffic collision rates
Education school enrollment, achievement, test scores, etc.
Health insurance, teen births, infant death rates, etc.

Once you click on one of the above links, you will be presented with a list of geographical areas from which to select.  The following areas are available:

City of Atwater, City of Dos Palos, City of Gustine, City of Livingston, City of Los Banos, City of Merced, Merced County (data set includes incorporated and unincorporated areas), Countywide Comparisons - By selecting this option, you may view tables that compare data from each of the seven jurisdictions within Merced County.

Please note that data is not always available at the City level. If you cannot find data for a specific City, we suggest that you use data tables for the County as a whole.

Should you have any comments or questions please send an email to: anna.fuentes@mcagov.org.
