Anna Maria Fuentes Scholarship

Merced County Association of Governments Governing Board and staff established this scholarship program in memory and tribute to Anna Maria Fuentes, Grants Program Manager, colleague, and friend.

The scholarship will be awarded by the MCAG Governing Board in an amount to be determined annually in accordance with accumulated financial resources. A recipient may receive the scholarship and an additional three years or until their degree objective is achieved, whichever is less, subject to submission of letter requesting continuation and scholastic documentation as determined by MCAG.

Criteria:
Initial Award Criteria: Graduating high school senior from a high school in Merced County with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (4.0 =A), who has demonstrated a high level of participation in extra curricula activities including positions of leadership.

Amount to be awarded may vary each year. However, the annual maximum scholarship amount is $1,000 and $4,000 maximum award per student.

Continuing Award Criteria: Up to an additional three years or until degree objective is achieved, whichever is less. Requires annual submittal of a letter requesting continuation of the scholarship and documentation of institutional enrollment and attainment of a 3.0 or greater grade point average (4.0 = A). Annual request must be received by MCAG no later than January 15 of the year of the request.
