Continuum of Care Plan Update - 1824
To provide comprehensive planning services to the region to attract resources with which to create economic self-sufficiency for Merced County homeless persons.
Continuum is a HUD term which refers to a “continuum” of services allowing individuals to move from homelessness to eventual permanent housing. Root causes of an individual’s homelessness are addressed by coordinating counseling, job training, and other supportive services. Continuum of Care relies heavily on collaborative partnerships by stakeholders representing government, faith based, and non-profit organizations.
A Continuum of Care Plan describes the Merced County region’s comprehensive response to homelessness. The planning document is a prerequisite to applying for Continuum of Care grant funds annually available from HUD.
