GIS Maintenance - 1610
The purpose of the GIS Maintenance element is the annual collection, editing and maintenance of GIS data from various sources to support MCAG’s transportation planning elements. This data is vital for maps and analysis for the Regional Transportation Plan, Regional Transportation Impact Fee, Federal and State Transportation Improvement Plans, and other transportation related projects. The data is also used to update the Traffic Model and Pavement Management System.
Staff will continue to generate and maintain GIS data for all of Merced County. In addition to related tasks performed in previous years, a more comprehensive address database will be created and maintained. Addresses will be collected at the time of assignment from Planning Departments. All addresses missing from the Assessors database will be researched and added. With the conversion to geodatabase, staff will be able to maintain multiple addresses per parcel.
MDSS, Inc. will prepare this element under an agreement with MCAG.
