EXPENDITURE PLAN

Measure V is Merced County's 30-year 1/2 cent transportation sales tax that was passed by voters in November 2016. The measure is estimated to generate $15 million in new revenue annually and $450 million over the life of the measure.

The voter-approved Transportation Expenditure Plan was developed by a 24 member Transportation Expenditure Plan Steering Committee who offered a flexible approach to providing transportation funding directly to local governments and setting aside funding for projects of regional benefits along our highways and regionally significant corridors.

implementation plan

The Measure V Implementation Plan was approved by the MCAG Governing Board for adoption at the September 20, 2018 meeting. The plan, which will be updated on an annual basis throughout the life of the Measure, will include a detailed list of projects and programs to be funded using Measure V funds over the next three to five years.  This will include identifying  investments in regional projects as well as local priorities.

The plan was developed collaboratively by the individual MCAG agencies and the MCAG Board, with an Eastside and Westside Committee recommending specific projects for funding in their areas for approval by the Board.  This effort is being coordinated with MCAG's Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Community Strategy Update.
