CALTRANS TO BEGIN SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ON STATE ROUTE 152 IN MERCED COUNTY

MERCED COUNTY – Caltrans is beginning a safety improvement project that will make upgrades to existing guard rails, concrete barriers, and vegetation control elements on State Route 152 (SR-152) in Merced County. 

Work will occur at various locations on eastbound and westbound SR-152 from the San Pedro Canal (east of Los Banos) to the SR-59 Junction. 

This project is scheduled to begin the week of April 18-24, 2021, (weather permitting) with completion expected in September 2021. 

Work is scheduled to occur during day-time hours, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and will include alternating lane closures on SR-152. 

Caltrans will have changeable message signs alerting motorists of the lane closures and potential delays. 

This estimated $5.360 million maintenance project will be performed by Midstate Barrier, Inc. of Stockton, CA. 

Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
